Where do you guys rank him w/out Delhomme?

I'm not even sure he's a #1 WR (12 team league)

If so..he went from one of the better #1s...to the worse

what are owners doing if anything with him?

His value goes to hell without Delhomme. Carr doesn't have the arm to hit up Smith on a veritcal route. Matt Moore would be a better QB for Smith than Carr, so hope he stinks up the joint or something.

Carolina's offensive line has been declining in recent years. He's still a #1 though and Carr definitely, IMO, has the arm to make any pass that Delhomme could make. Still, Carr is not that mobile and will get sacked a good amount. I like Smith to be a bottom tier #1 fantasy WR.

I think he'll do as well as Delhomme did. David Carr has an NFL arm but has always been under intense pressure in Houston. What's funny is that the year he leaves, Houston finally starts to put together a line behind Kubiak's zone-blocking scheme that Denver runs to perfection. He also went to a team that had an average-at-best offensive line. This guy can make all the throws and would be a star behind certain lines. He's had nothing but bad luck getting good protection and time to throw. He should do decently in Carolina. I think he's a better QB than quite a few current NFL starters, including possibly Delhomme.

More and more I think a quarterback has a huge amount to do with how an offensive line looks. I think Houston getting a much better, quicker thinking quarterback has more to do with their offensive line improvements than anything. A fast quarterback with a good release can make a lot of bad lines look better than they are. Carr just doesn't seem to have "it". He doesn't see the game quick enough and he just can't play. I hope to god he can have one big game with Smith so I could trade for decent value though. Nobody wants Smith right now. Maybe I'm still hoping for too much in return. Do you think a lower value player like Roy Williams is enough in return? I don't see many people trading much more than that until he has at least one good game.
